We all are creative, relatively, and yes we all are. We have been created in the image of God. God is creative, right? So then it wouldn’t be wrong to say that we are also very creative. By virtue of our imaginations, we all get this idea or that idea at one moment or the other. Putting all ideas into a reality will be useless if they are not well planned and well executed; and most importantly, they have to be timed. I am sure God set out to use six out of the seven days for all creation. If he had been lackadaisical and kept thinking – oh I will create all eventually; don’t bother about timing – would we all be here? Personally, I love to put timing on my activities. Timing gets me edgy and gives me a feeling of wanting to achieve something at the end of a quarter or half year. I simply cannot understand why some will be comfortable with having so many plans and when asked, they just say ‘the time will come!’ or that ‘eventually it will come out.” No! What is eventually? When you’re 50 and almost grayed out? When you run low on your natural abilities like the extra strength and zeal you have during your youth? When are you going to realize that finally it is time to put out this or that? It is different when you are restricted to come out with a particular project because the visions and ideas in your heads are restricted by current technology and advancements, as in the times for the release of the movies, AVATAR and LORD OF THE RINGS. Even those, there was still a plan for their outdooring. With AVATAR for instance, the originator still kept his checks and when the time had come when the technology available could fit his imaginations, he plunged deep into it, even to an extent of developing a language for the movie. Need I tell you about the results? Well, AVATAR became and still is the highest grossing movie ever made, surpassing TITANIC. Now this man, James Cameron, set a box office record with TITANIC. So high was this record that it took himself to break it with AVATAR, set in the distant year of 2154! See the power and success of having ideas, planning them well and having timelines around them? Money may be another barrier, sometimes but even that, you can easily get financial help with a well written business plan. This is where business minded friends and families should be targeted. And again, timelines come to play here because investors will ask when they will start recouping their monies. At the end of the day, it is not enough to talk and dream and keep dreaming without ever venturing – dreaming, yet sticking to the status quo of what not. It is not enough to sit and talk about what others are doing because you believe you have a better idea or know-how. PLEASE KEEP QUITE! They may be doing lousy jobs but at least they are doing something! They are exploring and oh heaven yes they are making money! If you are one of those people who talk too much about how you can make things better and yet do not want to lift a butt off your comfort zones, please change your styles. Take charge of your goldmine and explore. Shirley Frimpong Manso, I am quite sure had and still might have some issues with some of our movies but she didn’t go around telling all that she is better when she still did not have a single movie to her name! Now she has the movies and folks are talking in her favor. Shirley, I look up to you. (Confession) Do you realize that every idea you conceive is a goldmine? Your idea will be responsible for the livelihood of your very self and a number of people, alongside providing businesses with avenues to make more money through promotions and events. All these involve a lot of creative thinking yet at the beginning and running through to the end, there should be timelines for delivery. Ideas need to be carefully crafted, yes, but trust, all you seriously need is the main idea. Crafting and remolding shouldn’t take forever. There is another saying – experience is the best teacher! I am not putting up an argument. I am supporting. But my “slightly” radical mind tells me that you don’t necessarily have to go through experiences all the time. You can sit at the foot of a king in the palace, hear him solve issues, watch his mannerisms and gain a lot of wisdom from him; wisdom enough to make you solve issues for people. You do not have to wait till you become the king before making people aware that you have gained this wisdom or that one. . .and if you never become the king, then what? Experience teaches, no doubt, but you do not have to go through all experiences. If your friend tells you there is a ditch down the road and you choose to ride into it all in the name of gaining your personal experience, then forgive me but a screw must be loose in your head!
