Former coach of the national U-23 and gold medalist at the last AAG in Mozambique, James Kwesi Appiah, has charged the Black Meteors and the Black Queens teams that have already qualified for the 11th All Africa Games holding in Congo Brazzaville from September 4th to 19 this year to ensure they win the gold medals at stake in the competition.
The All Africa Games which is Africa’s fashion of the Olympic Games attracts over 52 countries of Africa and Ghan has always been a power house in the competition.
Appiah was the first coach to win a gold medal in the football division when he defeated South Africa on penalties in 2011 in Maputo.
The Malik Jabir lead Meteors qualified for the AAG beating previous host of the games 2-0 in Tamale on Sunday in the return leg of the final round of the qualifiers having lost 0-1 in the first leg in Maputo
Also the Black Queens made mincemeat of Zimbabwe in the return leg of the same final round qualifying series drawing 2-2 at the Harare stadium having won by 2-1 score line at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg to qualify 4:3 on aggregate.
The elated coach commended the teams for doing the nation proud and charged them to go for the gold medals at stake in their various competitions in Congo Brazzaville.
