The Global Dental Technical Services and Perfect Smile Foundation has launched Ghana's inaugural dental mobile hub, revolutionizing access to quality oral healthcare.
Reflecting on the journey, the Co-founders, Dr. Yaw Twum and Augustina Mensah Ephraim recalled the numerous dental outreach programmes they conducted in various communities, including Adenta Cluster of Schools, School of the Deaf in Akuapem, Borstal Institute, Amrahia, Tafo, and many more.
They noted that despite their unwavering dedication, they faced significant challenges, including inadequate funds, a scarcity of dental personnel, and a lack of modern dental equipment and accessories.
According to the duo, they also faced difficulties finding qualified dental professionals to join their team.
To address this, they established training programs to upskill local dental professionals, ensuring a sustainable solution for the communities they served.
The lack of modern dental equipment and accessories was another significant hurdle.
Today, the dental mobile hub stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by a team of dedicated professionals.
“The dental mobile hub is a dream come true," Mrs. Ephraim says, beaming with pride. "We are proud to have overcome the challenges and are excited to continue making a difference in the lives of Ghanaians.”
Dr. Twum adds, “This is just the beginning. We will continue to push boundaries and innovate to ensure that everyone has access to quality oral healthcare.”
