Veteran Sports Administrator Mr. Abbey Pobie has endorsed Abedi Ayew Pele for the national U-17 side, the Black Starlets.
According to him the recent downturn of the national U-17 side can be remedied under the technical tutelage of Abedi Pele.
In an interview on Asempa FM’s Sports Morning Show on Monday, Mr. Pobie stated that the FA should as a matter of urgency, hand over the Black Starlets to the soccer maestro if they really want the growth of the game.
He explained that Abedi Pele’s recent successes with a relatively young squad mean he could do the trick for the Starlets.
Abedi Pele’s Nania FC over the weekend won the coveted Alhaji Sly Tetteh Super Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium after beating Berekum Chelsea 4-3 on penalties.
Nania FC also won the 2011 FA Cup and are due to represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup next year.
