Ghana defender Gideon Baah has completed a move to American top-flight side New York Red Bulls.
The former Kotoko defender joins a host of Ghanaians currently plying their trade in the MLS.
In an official statement released by the club’s website, the Sporting Director of the club, Ali Curtis, was confident Baah will add quality to the ranks of the club
“Gideon has all the characteristics we were looking for in a central defender,” said Sporting Director Ali Curtis.
“He fits our style of play extremely well and we are anxious to have him get started with our club.”
Baah’s professional career began with Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League before being sent on loan to FC Honka in Finland.
After impressing in his first season, FC Honka completed the transfer of Baah in July 2013 before being snapped up a year later by Finnish giants HJK Helsinki after a string of consistent displays.
Baah joins Ghana internationals Harrison Afful, David Accam, Kojo Poku and Adam Kwarasey in the MLS.
