Matchday 10 of the Ghana Premier League presents some interesting clashes to be played across the country.
After their win against Dreams on matchday 9, Kotoko gear up for a regional derby clash against AshantiGold at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak will look to get back to winning ways as they welcome Bechem United to the Accra Sports Stadium.
Elsewhere, Legon Cities and Great Olympics will square off in a relegation battle while Berekum Chelsea await the arrival of free scoring Inter Allies.
Eleven Wonders v King Faisal- Techiman
Eleven Wonders pulled off a massive win on matchday 9. They recorded a 2-1 victory over Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium, their first win on the road this season.
Their home form has been average so far with two wins amassed in four games (W2 L2). The Techiman-based outfit are currently in 12th place with 10 points but their goal difference provides some worries.
They have scored just six goals whilst conceding 10 in total. They will aim to spark a significant change when they host King Faisal on Friday.
King Faisal have been in terrible form since the start of the campaign. They are the only team yet to clinch a victory among the top-flight sides after nine games.
The Insha Allah boys’ frustration were compounded after failing to take all three points at home to WAFA on matchday 9.
The Kumasi-based side are currently at the bottom of the log with just four points accumulated. They have conceded 20 goals, the highest in the league but have been good offensively, scoring 12 goals- the joint second highest in the competition.
They will aim to finally clinch their first victory as they travel to Techiman to face Eleven Wonders. The two teams will square off for the first time in the competition.
Prediction: Eleven Wonders 1-0 King Faisal
King Faisal are still struggling to find their feet and Eleven Wonders should take this one.
Legon Cities v Great Olympics- Accra
Legon Cities are slowly making headway in the league after initially going winless in their five opening games.
The Royals have now won two in their last four and have recorded only one loss during that period (W2 D1 L1). Goran Barjaktarevic’s side have clinched both their wins at home.
They do however have some worries. They currently have 10 points in nine matches, just one point above the drop zone and have conceded 11 goals so far, over one goal conceded per game.
They have only found the net on six occasions signaling a need for improvement. They will aim to get their third home win as they play host to Great Olympics.
Great Olympics have been on a roller coaster. The Oly Dade boys after going on a three game losing streak have showed signs of a positive change, winning three of their last five games. They however experienced a setback on matchday 9 with a loss against Eleven Wonders.
The Accra-based outfit have scored one goal per game (9) but have conceded 12, more than one goal per game; the third worst record among the current bottom seven teams.
Their objective now is to get back to winning ways against Legon Cities in a stadium they also call their home.
On head-to-head basis, the two teams have clinched two wins each and scored three goals each.
Prediction: Legon Cities 1-1 Great Olympics
The two sides will likely share the spoils on the day as they are both used to the terrain and it is difficult to find a clear winner.
Berekum Chelsea v Inter Allies- Berekum
Berekum Chelsea are in search of redemption after their shocking 3-1 loss to Elmina Sharks on matchday 9. The Blues are however in the title race having amassed 17 points in the league, one of the five elite teams to achieve that tally.
Asare Bediako’s side have conceded six goals in nine games. That may be a good statistic but it is the joint worst number among the top six.
The team has also scored eight in the same number of games, a cause for worry. They are currently fifth on the log.
Chelsea will hope to get back to winning ways as they prepare for a showdown with the free scoring Inter Allies team.
Inter Allies have had a rocky start to the campaign. They have only amassed 11 points in nine games and sit on 11th place.
The Eleven is to one boys have found the net on 14 occasions, the highest in the league but have conceded two more, the second highest conceded in the competition.
Karim Zito’s side have the objective of causing an upset as they travel to Berekum to face Chelsea. In their last nine meetings, Berekum Chelsea have won three and so have Inter Allies (W3 D3 L3).
Prediction: Berekum Chelsea 2-1 Inter Allies
Berekum Chelsea have the home advantage and should grab the victory.
Asante Kotoko v AshantiGold- Kumasi
Asante Kotoko have been one of the best sides of the campaign so far. The Porcupine Warriors have the joint highest points in the league so far (17).
They have scored 10 goals in nine games, the third highest tally among the top half of the table and have conceded five in the same number of matches (0.55 goals conceded per game).
Maxwell Konadu’s men have been unbeaten in their last five games with six goals scored and just two conceded in that period and their 1-0 away win against Dreams showed that they are a team to fear.
The Kumasi-based side will hope to extend their run to six games as they host an AshantiGold side who have also been impressive so far.
AshantiGold have also been one of the best teams in the league so far. The Miners have also amassed the joint highest points in the league after nine matches (17).
They also boast of the best defence in the competition having conceded just two goals after nine matches, just 0.22 goals per game.
Their attack is however a cause for concern as they have only found the net eight times during the period (0.88 goals per game), the joint worst tally among the top five sides.
The Obuasi-based side have only won one away game and will aim to get their second at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
In their last five Premier League meetings AshantiGold have won two and lost one (W2 D2 L1).

It will be very difficult to separate the two teams. They will likely share the spoils.
Ebusua Dwarfs v Karela United- Cape Coast
Ebusua Dwarfs are on the rise after a poor start to the season. The Mysterious Dwarfs lost their opening five games but have won two of their next four afterwards (W2 D1 L1). On matchday 9, they held Bechem United to a goalless draw.
The Cape Coast-based club however have to improve even further. They are currently in 18th place on the log with just seven points.
They have scored eight goals in nine games (0.88 goals per game) and conceded a whopping 14 goals. They will hope to get a positive result over Karela.
Karela United have been poor so far. The Ayinase based club are currently in 17th place with just nine points after nine games.
They have scored eight goals and conceded two more, showing that there is work to be done at both ends of the pitch.
Karela will aim to achieve their first road win of the season as they prepare to lock horns with Ebusua Dwarfs.
On head-to-head basis, Karela have shown superiority having won all of their last three meetings.
Prediction: Ebusua Dwarfs 0-1 Karela
Karela have been better when the two sides meet and it will be more of the same.
Hearts of Oak v Bechem United- Accra
Hearts of Oak are in search of their second home win of the season. In their four home games this season, they have lost two and drawn once (1W D1 L2).
They have however been better away from home, losing one of their last five (W2 D2 L1). In their last league game, they held Aduana Stars to a goalless draw.
The Phobians are currently in ninth place with six goals scored and eight goals conceded showing that Edward Nii Odoom still has work to do with his boys.
The Accra-based side will aim to clinch all three points as they prepare to welcome Bechem United to the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Bechem United have been good overall. They have amassed 14 points, just three points below the summit of the table and are currently in seventh place.
They have scored nine goals whilst conceding seven, highlighting that they need more firepower.
The Hunters will aim to break their away hoodoo as they prepare for a clash with Hearts of Oak in Accra.
In their last five meetings, Bechem United have won two and lost one (W2 D1 L2).
Prediction: Hearts of Oak 1-0 Bechem United
Bechem has failed to win any of their away games this season and that looks set to continue against Hearts.
Liberty Professionals v Aduana Stars- Dansoman
Liberty have been uninspiring so far this season. The Scientific Soccer lads have only amassed 10 points in nine games, one point above the relegation zone.
They have conceded 11 goals whilst scoring one less, indicating their frailties in defence. David Ocloo’s side were unsuccessful in their previous game, falling to a 1-0 defeat in Obuasi.
There is however some good news for them as they have regained the license to use the Carl Reindolf Park. They were banned from using the stadium after three snakes were killed in their match against Hearts of Oak.
They will hope that their return to their favoured ground will spur them on to victory over Aduana Stars.
Aduana Stars have been no pushovers. They have accumulated the joint most points in the league so far (17) and are currently at the summit of the table with 12 goals scored and six conceded.
The Ogya boys have however been without a win in their last two games (1D 1L). On matchday 9, they were held to a goalless draw by Hearts of Oak at home.
The Dormaa based club will look to get back to winning ways as they prepare to make the trip to Dansoman for a clash with Liberty Professionals.
Aduana Stars have been dominant on head-to-head basis, winning four of their last five against Liberty (W4 D1).
Prediction: Liberty Professionals 1-2 Aduana Stars
The Ogya boys are the superior side in terms of personnel and should be able to take all three points.
WAFA v Dreams- Sogakope
WAFA have been good so far this season. The Academy boys have amassed 14 points in nine games with only one loss allowed (W3 D5 L1).
The Sogakope-based outfit have been unbeaten in their last three league fixtures although two of those have been draws.
They have conceded four goals so far, the second lowest amount allowed in the top half of the table whilst scoring seven, also the second lowest goal tally in the top half.
WAFA will aim to get back to winning ways after picking up a point in their previous match as they prepare to face Dreams FC.
Dreams FC have also performed well in the league so far. They have accumulated 13 points after nine rounds and are currently in 8th place.
The Still Believe boys have found the net on nine occasions (one goal per game) whilst conceding seven (0.77 goals per game).
The Dawu-based club will aim to get back to winning ways after falling to defeat in their previous league game. They will travel to the Volta region to lock horns with WAFA.
In their last five encounters, WAFA have been dominant with three wins (W3 D1 L1).
Prediction: WAFA 1-0 Dreams
WAFA have the home advantage and should make it count against their upcoming opponents.
Medeama v Elmina Sharks- Tarkwa
Medeama have been excellent since the start of the season. The Mauve and Yellows have amassed 17 points so far, the joint highest amount in the league.
Samuel Boadu’s men have scored 11 goals, the second highest tally among the top five and conceded five goals, the joint second best record among the top five.
The Tarkwa-based side were held to a 1-1 draw by Karela on matchday nine and would look to get back on track as they welcome Elmina Sharks to the Akoon Park in Tarkwa.
Elmina Sharks are on a roller coaster so far. They have recorded two losses in nine games but also have just two wins during that period (W2 D5 L2).
They have amassed 11 points so far and are currently in 10th place on the log. Yaw Acheampong’s men have scored 10 goals but have conceded the same number, showing that there is work to be done on the defensive end.
Elmina Sharks will aim to upset another giant after recording a comprehensive 3-1 win over Berekum Chelsea on matchday 9.
Three goals have been scored by both sides in their last two meetings. Medeama have won once and so has Elmina Sharks.
