A second-half strike by Kofi Kordzi helped Hearts of Oak earn a deserved 1-0 win against Dreams FC in Dawu on Sunday.
Kotoko failed at home as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Liberty Professionals in Kumasi. The Porcupine Warriors needed a late strike by William Opoku Mensah to snatch a draw.
Elsewhere, Berekum Chelsea suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 2-1 to Bechem United in the local derby.
The defeat proved costly as Aduana Stars have taken over the top position following their 1-0 win over Medeama.
