Ghana’s trio, Nubia Adjei, Kaya Forson, and her sister, Zaira Forson, have travelled to Greece for the World Aquatics Swimming Championship World Cup 2023 2nd Leg.
The swimmers arrived in Athens on Thursday ahead of the tournament slated for 13-15 October.
On the first day, Nubia who represented Ghana at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and won six medals at this year's African Zone 2 Championship in Senegal, will look to continue her form in Heat 3 of the Women’s 50m freestyle event. Spain-based Kaya will also participate in Heat 2 of the same event.
Kaya is also scheduled to take part in Heat 1 of the Women’s 50m backstroke event alongside her sister, Zaira.
On day two, Nubia will compete in Heat 1 of the Women’s 100m backstroke along with Zaira who will participate in the Women’s 200m freestyle event as well.
On the third day, Nubia takes part in the Women’s 100m freestyle event in Heat 2. Zaira is also scheduled to feature in Heat 1 of the Women’s 200m backstroke event.
The championship serves as an opportunity for the swimmers to showcase their talents and test their strength for major tournaments.
