Atongo Zimba has recounted the ordeal he went through to gain acceptance of his music at the beginning of his career.

According to him, music patrons were more focused on songs done in Twi, those themed on gossip, or women.

Speaking on EVIBES with Becky, he said that although the messages and stories in his songs were not well-received in Ghana at the time, people from outside the country enjoyed them.

“In other countries they don’t care about how you sing but rather the spirit and the message and also the energy you bring from your heart. They value that which in end makes you have a good life too. But those days when I was in Ghana, you have to sing in Twi, gossip or girls before people will listen to you. Ghanaians at that time were listening to the stories in the song and not the music. My message and stories in my songs were boring for Ghanaians,” he said.

The E Vibes show strives to evoke memories through the setting of the interview and their rise, the memories they made on their way to the top with the hope that their unique stories will help shape the younger generation.

E Vibes is different from your regular day-to-day interviews. This show is carefully designed to provide some quality time with selected personalities.

Since taking off in November 2020, some of the biggest global icons in music, movies and the political space have been featured on the show by the exciting Becky who simply 'got the Vibes'.
