Ghanaians deserve certificates for enduring hardship under NPP – Mahama

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has said that Ghanaians deserve a certificate for enduring the hardships under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

Mr Mahama’s remarks were made during his regional tour at Dambai lorry station, where he highlighted the economic struggles and difficulties faced by Ghanaians under the current administration.

He claimed that the NPP government has mismanaged Ghana's economy, leading to widespread economic hardship and financial distress among Ghanaians.

The former president stated that the price of Kenkey, a traditional Ghanaian staple has skyrocketed under the current government.

He claimed that a ball of kenkey, which used to cost GH₵1 under the NDC regime now costs GH₵5 under the NPP administration.

Mr Mahama said fuel prices in Ghana have risen substantially, with Super XP currently costing around GH₵13.43 and Diesel XP at GH₵14.29.

In another development, the NDC Presidential candidate has given the assurance that his government will develop the six newly created regions in alignment with the NDC's focus on regional development.

He said developing these regions would involve investing in infrastructure, healthcare, education and economic opportunities.

He added that the NDC government would prioritise the unique needs of each region, fostering growth and improving living standards for residents.
