Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who is of Ghanaian descent, has been shortlisted for Premier League 2 Player of the Season after a formidable season with Crystal Palace’s U-23 side.
The midfielder was key to seeing Palace finish 5th in the Premier League 2 Division 1, their debut campaign in the top-flight of Academy football in England. To validate his efforts, the Ghanaian won the PL2 Player of the Month award, for the month of February.
Rak-Sakyi has 18 goals from 25 appearances to his name throughout 2021/22, making him the joint top scorer with James McAtee of Manchester City.
The 19-year-old made his Premier League debut in August 2021 against Chelsea and his International debut for England’s under-20 in September against Romania, registering a goal to his name.
He was named Crystal Palace’s U-23 Player of the Season at the club's awards night on the 10th May 10, ,2022.
Currently, the Ghanaian has been nominated with seven others for the Premier League Football Development Panel after PL2 club coaches nominated the best performances by opposing players throughout the season. The winner will be announced next week.
Though representing England at the U-20 level, Rak-Sakyi is eligible to represent Ghana through his parents.
