A Ghanaian has been arrested and cocaine worth Rs 12 lakhs recovered from his possession, police said on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off that drugs were being sold at M G Road, police zeroed in on 27-year-old Mahama Bin Albert and recovered 82 gms of cocaine from him on April 5.
His house was also raided and 32gms of contraband was recovered from there, they said.
A lap-top, three mobile phones and Rs 40,500 cash, obtained through sale of the drug, were also recovered.
Mahama had visited India earlier on two occasions from 2006 to 2008 and lived in both Mumbai and Bangalore and sold drugs during his stay in the cities.
He had left for Ghana in January and returned in March this year and arrived in Bangalore, police said.
On interrogation, Mahama revealed that he had procured the drug from a lady conduit in Delhi who worked for a drug trader, a native of Ethiopia who operated out of Holland, police said.
He told police that the drug was smuggled by concealing it in footwear during air transit between countries
