Media personality Kwasi Kyei Darkwah aka KKD says Ghana is in a worse economic situation compared to the era when it was classified as a Heavily Indebted Poor Country (HIPC).
Mr. Darkwah says the country's leadership, led by President Akufo-Addo has mismanaged the economy despite promising the opposite.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo and Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, have put up a worse performance compared to their respective fathers who together also led the country about fifty years ago.
"We are a highly indebted nation now. Aren't we worse of now than when we're going to HIPC? In fact, aren't we worse of now than in the administration of the current president's father when he was ceremonial president and the current Finance Minister's father was Minister of Finance, with their borrowing?' he said on JoyNews' AM Show on Monday.
Mr Darkwah alleged that although the country is faced with an economic crisis, the leaders are "plundering the state to safeguard their children," while incurring huge amounts of debts for generations of ordinary citizens.
He added that the activities of leaders have led to the wastage of the country's natural resources.
The renowned media personality has also expressed worry about party foot soldiers who have been blinded by their affiliation and as a result, have failed to recognise the damages caused by their leaders.
"When I look at the foot soldiers in all the parties, I'm like - you're sitting there, the people who give you coins or spit for you to lick, are safeguarding the future of their children and they're passing these tariffs to you and you don't realize there's something wrong," he expressed.
Meanwhile, he has advised leaders start serving the needy in the country rather than greedy individuals.
