Black Stars trio John Mensah, Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari have been named in the 2008 African Best XI by the continent's governing body ahead of next week's Glo-Caf Awards in Lagos, Nigeria.
Defender Mensah put up a nice form at the 2008 Nations Cup on home soil and made a high profile move from Rennes to Olympique Lyonnais in the French League.
Essien firepower in midfield at club and country was remarkable last year after playing in the Uefa Champions League finals with Chelsea and winning bronze with Ghana at the Nations Cup.
The 24-year-old Muntari also won the FA Cup with Portsmouth and moved to Italian Champions Inter Milan this term.
The list, to be announced at the 2008 Glo-CAF Awards ceremony, is based on popular votes of the coaches of the 54 national associations that make up the confederation.
All the eleven players will receive crystal trophies at the awards ceremony

Midfielders: Yaya Toure (Cote d'Ivoire), Mohammed Aboutreika (Egypt), Michael Essien (Ghana) and Sulleyman Muntari (Ghana).
