West African nation Ghana will confirm an opponent for the next FIFA approved international friendly by the close of business on Thursday, Goal.com can reveal.
The 9 February game will be the first major assignment for new coach Goran Stevanovic who assumes office next Tuesday.
“We’ll be able to confirm an opponent tomorrow [Thursday],” FA vice-president Fred Pappoe informed Goal.com. “It would not be strategic to give you names now, but everything is in place and it would be a team strong enough.”
The four-time African champions will use the friendly to prep for their next crucial 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo.
The World Cup quarter finalists have already booked a historic encounter at the Wembley Stadium with England on 29 March.
