Ghana will host the 5th Pan-Commonwealth Veterinary Conference from March 20-25, 2011 on the theme, "The Role of Veterinarians and Livestock Farmers in Food Security and Poverty Alleviation."
The conference will attract over 500 delegates from all the 54 countries of the Commonwealth fraternity, according to a statement signed on Tuesday by Dr K.B. Darkwa, President of the Ghana Veterinary Medical Association.
It said President John Evans Atta Mills would be the Special Guest of Honour.
Other personalities who would address the conference include Mr Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations and Dr. Bernard Vallat, Secretary General of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
