The Black Stars moved three places up in the latest Fifa World ranking released on Wednesday for the month of April after a recent slide.
Ghana now occupy the 31stposition from the 34th place it held during the last month's ranking.
The Black Stars slim 1-0 win over Benin in last month's joint 2010 Nations Cup/World Cup qualifiers ensured they amassed 779 points to topple African champions Egypt.
Cameroon remain Africa's highest ranked nation on 19th place and followed by Nigeria on 30th.
European Champions Spain still unbeaten in 31 matches cling onto top spot followed by Germany and Holland.
A total of 109 "A" matches (77 FIFA World Cup preliminary matches and 32 friendly matches) were taken into account in the latest world ranking.
