Ghana’s Olympic team edged out their Ivorian counterparts 4-3 on penalties in their All-African Games qualifier on Saturday in Abidjan.
The Ghanaians lost the second leg encounter by two goals to nil, the same margin they won the first leg played at the Sunyani Coronation Park a fortnight earlier.
The Ivorians scored twice in the second half, including one from the spot, but two brave saves by goalkeeper Eric Nii Baah during the shootout saw the Ghanaians booking their ticket for the final eliminator against Nigeria.
Michael Helegbe, Nafiu Awudu, Abraham Annan and Isaac Vorsah scored while Michael Akuffo missed with his shot.
