The Ghana Pentecostal Council, has appealed to all political parties to avoid television and radio adverts of personal attacks on their opponents in the run-up to the December general elections. The council noted with dismay the many provocative and defamatory television and radio adverts that have been put in the public domain by the various political parties. At a press conference in Koforidua, the chairman of the council, Reverend Alex Ofori Amankwah, said the December elections could be peaceful if only all the stakeholders carried their activities in the national interest. He charged Christians not to use the Sunday as an excuse to stay away from exercising their franchise. Rev Amankwah on behalf of the council appealed to the media to be circumspect in their reportage and do away with sensationalism that is likely to affect the outcome of the elections. He called on all Ghanaians, irrespective of their religious background to go out massively and vote on December 7. Source: GNA
