Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Samed has been relegated to the reserve team of Ligue 1 side RC Lens as the club try to balance it's books in the ongoing transfer window.
The 24-year-old joined Lens in 2022 but struggled with injuries last season which limited his appearances to 27 in all competitions.
Head coach Will Still made the decision to streamline the squad due to limited space, with plans to offload Salis and another teammate before the summer transfer window closes.
Samed's contract with the French side is valid until June 2028.
“For the well-being of the group and the training sessions, it was necessary to trim the group a little,” Coach Still explained, as reported by Foot Mercato.
He has been with RC Lens for over a year, making 72 appearances and contributing one goal and one assist.
Despite his efforts, the club's strategy appears to be shifting, with Samed reportedly linked to a transfer to Montpellier.
