Ghanaian midfielder, Michael Baidoo, opened the Swedish league campaign with a goal and an assist for Elfsborg as they relinquished a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 against Varnamo on Monday.
The 24-year-old netted the opening goal just 11 minutes into their first game of the season at the Boras Arena.
It was a delicate finish inside a crowded box after being set up by Andri Fannar Baldursson.
Seventeen minutes after scoring the opening goal, Michael Baidoo set up the second for Simon Hedlund to double their lead.
However, Varnamo halved the deficit through Wenderson Oliveira, who was assisted by Ajdin Zeljkovic, with three minutes left in the first half.
The visitors equalized through Ajdin Zeljkovic again eleven minutes after halftime to ensure the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
Jalal Abdulai and Terry Yegbe also played the entire game for Elfsborg, two of the four Ghanaians in the match.
Frank Adjei is the other, making just a brief cameo appearance for Varnamo.
