As part of activities for the 53rd Annual Conference and AGM of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), held in Takoradi from March 17 to April 1, 2023, 15 Professional Engineers were elevated to the fellow status.
Explaining who a Fellow is in the engineering field, the Executive Director of the GhIE, Ing. David Kwatia Nyante said, a Fellow is an Engineer who makes significant contribution to the engineering profession.
It can also be conferred on a non-engineer who makes significant contribution to the engineering field, which is known as, an Honorary Fellow.
Ing. Prof. Elsie Effah Kaufmann of Maths and Science Quiz fame, was elevated to a Fellow status in Mech/Agric/Marine Technical Division. Ing. Nana Poku Agyeman, Director of Urban Roads, Kumasi, was also elevated to a Fellow status in the Civil Division.
Other Engineers who were elevated to a Fellow status in the Civil Division included Ing. Dr. Emmanuel Kwesi Nyantakyi, Ing. Emmanuel Twum Antwi-Darkwa, Ing. Seth Oduro Yaw Ahene, Ing. Seth Bright Attipoe-Denyah, Ing. Peter Fritz Aganu, Ing. Joseph Asafo-Boakye and Ing. Dr. Worlanyo Kwadjo Siabi.
The rest of the engineers who were elevated to Fellow status were Ing. Jacob Brown Yawson and Ing. Joseph Appiah for the Mech/Agric/Marine Division; Ing. Felix Nii Klorkwei Tetteh-Chemical/Mining Division; Ing. Ebenezer Ato Roberts, Ing. Ebo Charles Kraikue and Ing. Akim Adio Tijani, all of the Electrical/Electronic division.
