Ghana will host the first-ever Electric Revolution Africa (ERA) E-Mobility Conference in Accra.
The Conference being organised by Energy Quest Foundation is in partnership with the United Nations, the Ministry of Energy, Transport, Environment Science & Technology, and will be held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel from Tuesday 9th to 10th of July, 2024.
The two-day event will be headlined by Ghana’s Minister of Energy, Dr Matthew Prempeh and will also attract other international speakers from the continent of Africa and beyond.
It is on the theme “The New ERA: Innovation and Sustainability”.
The ERA E-Mobility Conference is an energy transition-driven conference dedicated to maximizing business collaboration for economic development in Africa and accelerating the growth of the African e-mobility ecosystem; addressing pressing policy challenges and exploring opportunities for sustainable e-mobility.
This maiden edition will feature intellectually stimulating dialogues, exhibitions, corporate networking sessions, and an electric vehicle show (EV Experience), providing a premier platform for policymakers, development partners, industry leaders, and stakeholders to converge and drive advancements in electric mobility in Africa.
Discussions at this two-day conference will cover environmental sustainability, climate change, feasible means to promote electric mobility in Africa, energy transition in Africa, and Trade & Investments among many others.
Further deliberation will delve into investment and partnership opportunities within the electric vehicle industry and Africa’s EV transition and diversification. The icing on the cake is the exhibition of cutting-edge EV technologies and the opportunity to experience it all for free.
Speakers will include; Damilola Ogunbiyi- CEO and UN SRSG for Sustainable Energy for All, Co-Chair of UN Energy; R. Yoofi Grant, CEO of GIPC, Dr Riverson Oppong, PhD- CEO of the Association of Oil Marketing Companies Ghana; Charles Abani- United Nations Resident Coordinator, Ghana and Ademola Ogunbanjo- Executive Vice President of Oando Clean Energy from Nigeria.
Others are; Talha Tol- Commercial Counsellor, Turkish Ambassador (Turkey, and Nana Arkorful- Impact Startup Founder from the USA.
Doris Edem Agbevivi- Senior Officer at the Energy Commission Drive Electric Initiative (Ghana), Kodjo Afidegnon- MD, Transaction Advisory Group- GreenMax from Togo, Amazing Grace Anim- Yeboah-- Director, Business Banking, Absa (Ghana) and Ian Mbote-- MD and Chief Technology Officer at Wahu Mobility from Kenya.
