The Ghana Enterprises Agency have supported 74 Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises with an amount of ¢7 million.

This according to the agency is to aid the growth of local businesses, post COVID-19.

At the grant and agreement signing and orientation ceremony, Chief Executive Officer, Kosi Yankey Ayeh, said the initiative is intended to help the private sector expand and create more job opportunities.

She entreated the MSMEs to make good use of the funds, expand their business and employ many Ghanaians.

"We will continue to do it and we will do more. This is part of the government initiative to transform the economy; let's support the work of the government to create job opportunity for others".

She also revealed that the disbursement of the monies to the group will be done in the next few weeks.

Pointing out other initiative to support these MSMES, she said her outfit will in the coming days launch the technical assistance and the hybrid SMEs fund which is in line with government aim to transform the economy.

She added that her outfit will partner the Ghana Export Promotion Centre to provide a framework that will aid MSMEs to take advantage of the African Continental Free Trade Area to expand their businesses

"With the AfCFTA, for those here now we will continue to help them with the tools to be more competitive and we will be working with the Ghana Export Promotion Centre to help these SMEs to take advantage of the African Continental Free Trade Area", she added.

The Ghana Export Agency is to promote and develop businesses in the MSMEs space.
