Black Stars defender Jerome Opoku has signed for Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir in a permanent deal from Arouca FC of Portugal.
Opoku had initially signed for Basaksehir on a season-long loan last year, but the Super Lig side have decided to activate the option to buy clause in his loan contract that will see him at the club for another three years.
Opoku made 28 appearances for Basaksehir last season, scoring four goals and keeping eight clean sheets.
Opoku made his national team debut in a 4-0 friendly loss to the United States.
His other two caps for Ghana came in a 2-2 draw with Uganda, in which he got sent off, and a 2-1 loss to Nigeria, in which he scored his first-ever international goal.
