Ghana's Black Stars on Monday eased into the Quarter Final stage of the ongoing MTN Africa Cup of Nations after beating the Atlas Lions of Morocco 2:0 at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
Midfield dynamo, Michael Essien put Ghana ahead in the 26th minute after latching onto a free-kick taken by Sulley Muntari just outside the Moroccan box while Sulley himself finished off a pass from Essien in the 45th minute.
The second half was largely uneventful except for some moments of goal attempts at each end.
Meanwhile at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi, Guinea and Namibia settled for a goal apiece.
The result means Guinea will go into the Quarter Final stage with Ghana.
BLACK STARS LINE-UP: Richard KINGSON, SARPEI Hans Adu, GYAN Asamoah/GYAN Baffour, PANTSIL John, MENSAH John (Cpt.), ANNAN Anthony, ESSIEN Michael, AGOGO Manuel/DRAMAN Haminu, MUNTARI Sulley Ali, ADDO Eric, OWUSU–ABEYIE Quincy/AYEW Andre.
