President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has extended his congratulatory messages to the newly elected officials of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA).
GHALCA went to polls Thursday, January 23, to elect new executives for the next administration.
John Ansah, at the end of the elections at the Accra Sports Stadium, was elected the new Chairman, beating Isaac Wilberforce Koomson.
Ansah will take over from Kudjoe Fianoo for the next four years with Phylis Marku Moncar serving as his vice.
Following the outpouring of congratulatory messages for the new executives, Okraku also left a message for the team.
“It is with great humility that I extend warm-hearted congratulations to Mr. John Ansah, on his election as the new Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) for the next four years,” he said in a statement.
“I also wish to congratulate the first female vice-chairperson, Ms. Phylis Marku Moncar and the elected Executive Council members for the momentous feat.
“Your victories are a testament to a remarkable dedication, leadership, and the trust your colleagues have placed in your abilities.
“This new chapter signifies an exciting journey ahead, and I have no doubt that the new leadership will continue to inspire and guide the club's welfare body.”
The FA President also urged the new leaders of GHALCA to drive football in the country to the right direction.
“As you step into these new roles, may you lead with integrity and vision, fostering innovation and growth in the forward march of GHALCA in particular, and Ghana Football in general,” he continued.
“As you begin this exciting journey of leadership, I am confident that GHALCA will work closely with the Ghana Football Association in unity, combining diverse talents, perspectives, and ideas into a shared vision.
“Together, we have the power to create a positive change and foster a culture of inclusiveness, innovation, and progress.
“I am confident that by standing shoulder to shoulder, GHALCA and the GFA will pave the way for success and make a lasting impact.“
Ansah won the Chairmanship position with a total of 96 votes out of 132 with Koomson claim 35 votes.
