The Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Alhaji Raji wants the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to reach a compromise with King Faisal owner Alhaji Karim Grunsah so the Ghana Premier league can start.
It is unclear when the 2014/2015 league season will start as Alhaji Grunsah is bent on seeking justice in court over the Disciplinary and the Appeals committee of the Ghana FA decision to dismiss a protest to have points deducted from Aduana Stars who flouted a regulation to pay a fine within a time frame last season.
GHALCA has been criticized heavily for not doing anything to solve the issue and Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Raji says they are trying their best but wants the Ghana FA to sit with Alhaji Grunsah to settle the impasse.
“The way forward is for the GFA and the parties to reach a compromise where everybody will be satisfied, satisfied in the sense that an issue arose and the party was not happy,” he told Joy Sports.
“He (Alhaji Grunsah) went to court, if the GFA will find a way because GHALCA met and we had our options but we are not the organisers of the league so we have asked the FA to reach a compromise which we believe will be well for Ghana football but if they don’t the League clubs association will find a way out.”
Alhaji Raji noted the difficulties the clubs are going through following this unfortunate development.
“You can smell it, you can feel the pain, you can feel the disappointment in the faces of the clubs leadership and it is better for us to quickly resolve the matter because if we don’t it will get out of hands,
“Our local players are not match fit now and the U-23 team that have been called to camp are also facing the same problem so that is the flow of the difficult.”
