The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has completed the first phase of the betPawa park.
At a brief ceremony at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence on Tuesday, GFA President Kurt Okraku was joined by former chairman Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe and members of the Executive Council to formally open the facility.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kurt Okraku expressed his appreciation to betPawa for honoring their promise.
‘‘I’ll start by saying thank you to betPawa. When we had the announcement months ago, I am very sure that there were a lot of people who did not really think that it would see the light of day.
But we kept faith, we kept working with betPawa, we have always seen them as a good and strategic partner and lo and behold we are here today commissioning the pitch.’’

GFA Prez Kurt Okraku (in green track suits), is joined by Abdul Razak, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, Francis Oti Akenteng and vice president, Mark Addo.
Mr. Okraku added that the facility will help meet the growing demands due to creation of additional national teams.
‘‘We have had the old pitch for close to 15years and obviously with the growth in the number of our national teams, it was very clear that we needed more investments and for betPawa to invest huge sums of money into the construction of this pitch, it will only help our football association’’ he concluded.
The betPawa Park is one of the investments that Premier League partner betPawa promised to make in Ghana football for the next three seasons following the decision to sponsor the Ghana Premier League in 2022.
When complete, the FIFA standard pitch capable will also have a changing room, VIP stand and a stands for spectators.
