The Ghana Premier League is expected to kick start on Saturday without a headline sponsor.
But the Ghana Football Association Vice President George Afriyie has promised that the Premier League will have a sponsor before the league reaches its halfway stages.
George Afriyie said the football association are working hard to get a headline sponsor that will for the first time take responsibility for the commentary rights for radio though the product will remain free for the media.
“The GFA is doing everything possible to ensure that we secure a sponsor for the league,” Afriyie said
“We are in talks with several companies.”
“For the first time we are going to have a sponsor who would be responsible for radio commentary.”
“But remember the product will still remain free to the Ghanaian media with some responsibilities.”
It is still remains unclear whether First Capital Bank would be headline sponsor of the league after Saanie Dara disclosed the FA had not terminated their contract with the bank.
