Engineering construction experts from Germany together with members of the German Armed Forces Technical Advisory Group (GAFTAG) have paid a courtesy call on the General Officer in-charge of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Northern Regional Command, Brigadier General M. Essien, in Tamale in the Northern Region.
The visit forms part of measures put together to strengthen the existing relationship between the two countries.
The visit falls in line with GAFTAG’s support to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in areas of infrastructure, logistics and training.
As part of their mission in the Region, the group (GAFTAG) visited the site for the construction of the three field workshops to assess and evaluate the project which when started, would meet international standards.
The team also inspected the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Headquarters for Operation Enhanced in Koudanlgou, which shares location with the Headquarters of the Northern Command in Nyohini, a suburb of Tamale.
The leader of the delegation, Lieutenant Colonel B. Frei expressed his profound appreciation to the GAF and GOC for the bilateral engagement between the two countries.
He lauded GAF’s commitment and partnership with GAFTAG, adding that they were willing to continue supporting GAF.
Brigadier General M. Essien on his part, also commended GAFTAG for its immense support and appealed to the delegation to continue to strengthen existing ties.
He reiterated the importance of sustainment which is key to the success of any military operation.
