The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) is to investigate the circumstances under which former national lightweight champion, Samuel Amoako travelled to South Africa for a fight without the consent of his manager David Azumah.
The boxer known in the ring as Bruno, lost the 10 round contest to undefeated Jason Bedeman in South Africa last Saturday.
The trip is alleged to have been arranged by one Peter Ako Paterson who now claims managerial rights to the boxer.
The boxer’s managerial contract with David Azumah started three years ago and on the expiration of the contract, another three-year extension was signed in March this year.
The spokesperson for the Ghana Boxing Authority, Mohammed Amin Lamptey told Joy Sports the Authority will set up a team to look into the issue.
