A Sekondi District Magistrate's Court on Monday remanded George Awuni, a garden boy, in custody for stealing a nanny goat valued at GH¢80 at Apowa, near Takoradi.
Awuni, who pleaded guilty, will reappear on March 19 this year.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Nana Gyebi said at about 1130 hours on February 21 this year, the son of the goat owner was returning home from a barbering shop and saw the accused putting pieces of slaughtered animal into a sack.
He said the boy confronted him but he did not give any tangible explanation but rather took to his heels with the sack containing the meat.
Inspector Gyebi said the boy raised an alarm and the accused was chased and later arrested.
He said Awuni confessed stealing the goat.
