The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission says the pay levels of health workers arrived at after their jobs were re-evaluated is not the ultimate indicator of how much they will be paid under the single spine salary structure.
The Health Service Workers Union comprising hospital administrators, pharmacists and other allied health workers, is unhappy that after the job re-evaluation the salary grades of 70 percent of its members have reduced.
They are very agitated at the development. But the Chief Executive of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, George Smith Graham told Joy News the salary grades have not yet been determined.
He said there was therefore no basis for anybody to speculate that their salaries will reduce as a result of the implementation of the new salary scheme.
