The Black Satellites have landed in Cote D’Ivoire for the WAFU B U-20 Boys Cup of Nations.
The tournament which is scheduled from July 7-21, 2023 will bring together six countries from the West African sub-region following the withdrawal of Nigeria.
The Black Satellites have been training at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence at Prampram where they have engaged in a number of teams in pre-tournament friendlies.
The tournament is open to players born after January 1, 2003, however, the Ghana Football Association has decided to use players who were born in 2005 as part of a conscious effort to build a solid team for the 2024 WAFU B U-20 Cup of Nations, the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The decision is to maintain these players for at least one year for team cohesion and chemistry ahead of next year's tournaments.
Ghana are paired with host Cote D’Ivoire, Niger and Burkina Faso in Group A while Togo square off with Benin in Group B.
