At a colourful event at the Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi on Saturday, 30 artists and creative arts players from the Western Region were awarded for their work in 2021.
Headlined by 610Music, the Awards also introduced categories to award people in the Sports sector.
“In collaboration with the Western Region branch of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, we have introduced categories to award sportsmen and women from the region and also a club that has made an impact.
"This has become necessary as a result of a constant appeal from the sports sector to be included in this award. We will award Best Sports Man of the Year, Sportswoman of the Year and a football club that has made an impact,” the PRO for the Awards, Nana Kwesi Coomson, said.
The Award which is organised annually to honour artists and other creative arts participants having ties to the Western Region also honoured Amy Newman and Shasha Marley with Lifetime Achievement Awards.
The event witnessed performances by Amy Newman, Aka Blay, Shasha Marley, Keche, Qwesi Flex, Afezi Perry, Naana Blu, Kweysi Swat, KDM, Neff Gee, Bobo Dada Bee and many more.
