Full list of recipients at 2024 National Honours Awards

In a grand ceremony held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Monday, December 30, President Akufo-Addo presented national honours to individuals who have excelled in various fields, recognizing their contributions to national development through hard work, sacrifice, and dedication.

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo, Ministers of State, and other high-ranking citizens and government officials.

Among the honorees was Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who received the highest honour of the land, the 'Order of the Star of Ghana - Officer Awardee.'

JoyNews’ Erastus Asare Donkor received the prestigious 'Order of the Volta (Membership) Award', the second highest honour in the country.

The list also expanded to government appointees and Members of Parliament who were celebrated for their distinguished Service.

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, MP for Manhyia South and the running mate to the NPP's Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the recently concluded elections received the 'Order of the Volta - Officer Awardee' for Public Service.

The 'Order of the Volta - Officer' category recognised several MPs and government appointees, including Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Kweku Ofori Asiamah, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Kwasi Amoako-Atta, Dr Kwaku Afriyie, Mavis Hawa Koomson, Ambrose Dery, Dominic Nitiwul, and Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto.

In the field of Creative Arts, renowned figures such as Kwaw Ansah, Daddy Lumba, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, and Juliet Asante were also celebrated for their exceptional contributions to Ghana’s cultural landscape.

The ceremony highlighted the invaluable role of these individuals in shaping the nation’s development and fostering progress across diverse sectors.
