The Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Dan Botwe has released the list of nominees for Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).
Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Dan Botwe said the list has been forwarded to the Regional Ministers for the approval process to begin.
“They (Regional Ministers) are going to contact from tomorrow, Regional Directors of the Electoral Commission, get in touch with the Presiding Members of the various Assemblies and start the process of confirming Mr President’s nominees,” he said.
He also condemned the demonstrations embarked on by some party faithful following rumours that some MMDCEs have not been retained.
Mr Botwe stated that regardless of who has been chosen by the President, all MMDCEs, like other government appointees, have been selected to serve the community just like all others.
"Well-meaning Ghanaians know that we all are aspiring to serve our motherland and if an opportunity is not given at a particular time for you to serve there cannot be any reason whatsoever, why there should be a disturbance," he added.
