Approximately 1.2 billion people in the world are overweight and at least 300 million of them are obese.
According to the World Health Organization, obesity is one of the 10 most preventable health risks.
Obesity is associated with disorders such as hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, and liver disease.
Obesity has been thought to simply be related to an imbalance between energy intake and expenditure.
However, more recent research has suggested that genetic, physiological, and behavioral factors also play a significant role in the etiology of obesity.
Etiology of obesity
Energy is consumed in the diet through protein, carbohydrate and fat intake. In the presence of excess calories, the body will subsequently convert and store these energy nutrients as triglycerides in adipose tissue.
Over time, if excess calories are consumed without a concomitant increase in energy expenditure, excess body fat will be stored which may lead to obesity.
Excessive intake of energy nutrients has been reported to increase the size and number of adipocytes at various stages of the lifespan. Energy expenditure is composed of basal metabolic rate, the thermic effect of food, and physical activity.
Causes of belly fat- One Big Pack
You look into the mirror and the abdominal size disturbs you.
Now that every lady will scream at the sight of a guy with six packs, every guy is secretly wishing he is carrying six packs.
Most of the causes of a pot belly is related to diet and sedentary lifestyle which encompasses lack of exercise and also alcohol consumption.
With one “big pack”, you are wishing to reduce it, make it flat and perhaps get some six packs…it’s all about diet, exercises and general lifestyle, no alcohol, reduce stress and be disciplined enough to keep on taking care of yourself and not give up on exercise and the diet.
You need to keep at it to stay fit, most importantly the times we eat.
Go for a healthy body and make conscious effort to stay healthy.
Finally brethren...1 Tim 4:8: "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. "NIV
