A large crowd of people late Saturday thronged Half Assini to catch a glimpse of four persons including a woman, who have been arrested for possessing two human heads.
The Police refused to speak with the Ghana News Agency on the issue, but a source from Captain Williams Hotel in Half Assini, where the suspects were arrested, said the heads were male and female.
The names of the suspects were not immediately known but the GNA source said the woman, who hails from Adusuazo near Half Assini, engages in "Galamsey" business at a village near Tarkwa.
The source said sometime last week, one of the suspects managed to have the contact number of Mr Simon Etwe, a powerful herbalist at Adusuazo.
He said the suspect informed the herbalist that he and some friends had some human parts for sale.
He said in order to expose their evil deals, the herbalist expressed interest but latter alerted the Police at Half Assini.
He said on Saturday December 10th, the same person called to inform Mr Etwe that they were coming with the human parts and wanted to know where they could meet.
The source said Mr Etwe suggested to meet them at the Captain Williams Hotel and later updated the Police.
At about 1900 hours the same day when the four persons arrived with the heads, the Police launched an operation and succeeded in arresting them.
The source said all the four had been placed in Police custody pending further investigations.
He said the heads suspected to be those of corpses already buried, have been deposited at the Half Assini Government hospital mortuary for autopsy.
