Mr Peter Kwabena Ankomah, former Techiman Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has declared his intention to contest the Jaman South Parliamentary seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Ankomah, 57, who voluntarily retired from the NCCE, would contest the NDC primaries for the constituency with Mr. Ahmed Shams, who contested and lost to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate in 2004.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Drobo, Mr Ankomah expressed the optimism that he would win the primaries and capture the seat from the NPP.
“My experience in politics and popularity alone will make the difference and I am determined to go through with the race,” he added.
The Parliamentary aspirant urged delegates to vote massively for him in the primaries and implored members of the Party to work harder to woo more people.
Mr. Ankomah is a graduate of the University of Ghana and the Byelorussian State University in Minsk, Belarus.
