Former BOST MD, Alfred Obeng Boateng has assured delegates and people in Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai constituency that he will unite the party after winning the just ended NPP parliamentary primaries.
Mr Obeng Boateng, who is affectionately called ‘Approachers’, contested the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency, Kingsley Aboage-Gyedu and made a history for the first time since 1992.
He won by a huge margin.
After the proceedings of the election, the incumbent MP managed to get 188 votes whilst his opponent grabbed 580 votes.
The contest was initially between three candidates namely; Kingsley Aboage-Gyedu (incumbent Member of Parliament and Regional Minister), Alfred Obeng Boateng (former BOST MD and CEO of Approachers Series) and Christopher Addae (former MP 2000-2008).
Surprisingly, Christopher Addae stepped out of contest and threw his weight behind Mr Obeng Boateng.
He expressed his profound appreciation and gratitude to delegates who voted for him and assured to put the party ahead in the constituency.
