The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has been urged to clamp down on persons engaged in the manufacturing of fake herbal medicines in the country.
According to Chief Executive of Piwak Herbal Centre, Dr Prince Nelson Mortoti, the practice is on the rise again and it is creating unhealthy competition in the industry.
He spoke at an awards ceremony held in Accra.
3P Garlic mixture, a herbal medicine produced by Piwak Natural Health Centre was adjudged the best herbal product in Ghana.
The medicine won the best herbal product at the recently held Jupiter Radio and Television Personality (JRTP) Awards night on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Madina in Accra.
Many media practitioners won various awards for their contribution to the industry on the night.
The award organisers also awarded some remarkable business owners for their contribution to nation building and that was the reason Dr Prince Nelson Mortoti was awarded for leading researchers to come out with 3P Garlic Mixture.
Aside 3P being adjudged the best herbal medicine on the Ghanaian market, Dr Mortoti had already been presented with a citation which commended the CEO of Piwak Herbal Centre for supporting the wellbeing of Ghanaians with 3P Garlic mixture.
Dr Mortoti dedicated the award to his staff and emphasised that the mixture had the properties to manage or cure most common diseases found in Ghanaian homes.
“This medicine has healed a lot of Ghanaians and Africans of various ailments due to its efficacy. 3P Garlic mixture is the only organic garlic mixture you can find on the Ghanaian market,” he said.
Throwing more light on the effectiveness of 3P Garlic mixture, Dr Mortoti said it helps manage blood pressure by clearing the veins and arteries of any blockages.
This then helps allow for proper blood circulation to prevent diseases in the body.
He also said the mixture has been known to improve upon the human immune system for a long time, helping fight infections and other diseases.
