FirstBank Ghana has again demonstrated its dedication to community development during its Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) Week by extending substantial support to several organizations.

This year, the CR&S Week included donations to the Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Foundation, Making Learning Happen, Village of Hope, and Music for Quality Feet, and some basic schools in the Tema East Constituency.

This celebration is a key event in the Bank’s annual calendar, in line with the initiatives of its parent company, First Bank of Nigeria, and its subsidiaries throughout Africa.

The theme for this year’s CR&S Week, “Start Performing Acts of Random Kindness (SPARK): A Way of Life,” emphasises the Bank’s dedication to promoting kindness and driving positive change.

At a special ceremony held at FirstBank’s head office on Tuesday on the Independence Avenue in Accra, Victor Yaw Asante, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank Ghana, together with other management members, made a series of significant financial contributions to selected institutions.

The event marked a key moment in the Bank’s Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) Week, reflecting its deep-rooted commitment to community support. It also emphasized FirstBank's dedication to driving positive change and supporting various causes crucial to societal well-being.

Delivering the key address, Mr. Victor Yaw Asante said, “As we celebrate our Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) Week, we reaffirm our commitment to putting people first in everything we do. In today’s world, customers and investors are increasingly drawn to businesses with strong moral values, and at FirstBank, we are proud to be a leader in fostering positive, sustainable change in the communities we serve."

Mr. Asante further urged the beneficiaries to put the financial support received from FirstBank during CR&S Week to meaningful and impactful use, ensuring it contributes positively to the achievement of the objectives of the selected institutions.

“I encourage all beneficiaries to make the most of the support received during our CR&S Week. This is not just a financial contribution, but an investment in your future and the well-being of your communities. We believe in your potential to create lasting change, and we urge you to use these resources wisely to achieve positive outcomes that will benefit your institutions and those around you for years to come.”

FirstBank’s commitment to social responsibility involves a broad range of critical areas including education, sports, health, and empowerment.
