The 2024 First National Bank Accra Marathon, held on Saturday, October 12, concluded with University of Ghana student David Nakousi taking the top spot.
The annual athletics programme was organized by the Dansoman Keep Fit Club.
Nakousi was first to cross the finish line at the Dansoman Keep Fit Club in the male category.
The First National Bank Accra Marathon is the most prolific marathon in Ghana.
The most-watched athletic event in Ghana was started by the Dansoman Keep Fit Club and was known as the Accra Milo Marathon.
The event featured three categories of runs including Kiddy run - 5km. Junior run - 15km and Corporate - 5km. The marathon is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ghana Education Service and Ghana Athletics.
The First National Bank, being the headline sponsor was represented by its management led by the Managing Director Mr Warren Adams.
MCE of Abrekuma West Municipal Assembly, George Blay who represented the MP for the area Ursula Owusu-Ekuful announced that the planned astroturf for the Dansoman Keep Fit pitch will be constructed before the end of the year.
The winners were presented with cash prizes while participants were given consolation souvenirs.
