According to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, clubs in the Ghana Premier League must come up with several strategies that could help in bringing fans to the stadia.
Attendance at the Premier League matches has dwindled in the past years which has also affected the level of competition in Ghana's top flight.
The Premier League saw what has been described as an all-time low with regard to fans going to match centres to watch games.
As a way of providing solutions to this challenge ahead of the 2023/24 season, the Multimedia Group's Joy Sports and Nhyira Sports organised a mid-year thought leadership event on Monday, July 31, at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
Speaking at the event dubbed, "#FillGPLCentres: The Challenge, the Solutions, present our findings," the Sports Minister tasked clubs to indulge in marketing strategies.
"Premier League clubs, in your pursuit of attracting fans, consider innovative marketing strategies that resonate with the younger generation," Ussif emphasised.
"Engaging the community and giving back through Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives can foster a deeper connection with the fans."
The new Ghana Premier League season is set to begin in September with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announcing the fixtures on Monday, July 31.
