Information available to Joy Business indicates that there could be a new suitor for The Trust Bank (TTB).
The management of TTB and Merchant Bank have been in talks for a possible merger, but that dream appears to be fading gradually with the reconstitution of the board of Merchant Bank.
Joy Business sources say the new board of Merchant Bank does not appear keen on the proposed merger, however, another bank, Fidelity, could be heading for The Trust Bank.
Our sources say this merger could even take place before the year ends, if the majority shareholder of The Trust Bank, SSNIT agrees to the deal.
