A handful of Ghanaian supporters in Luanda, Angola, awaiting Sunday's match between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Palancras Negras of Angola, have been gripped by fear after attacks on Ghana's leading supporter, Samuel Aggrey also known as Obour, and two Ghanaian journalists Fiifi Ahunu Tackie and Andy Nortey of Radio Gold and Ghanaian Times respectively.
The supporters numbering about 50, with majority of them being members of the Millennium Supporters Union of Ghana (MISUGHA) and a few from All For One Supporters Union (AFOSU) and Ghana Supporters Union (GHANSU), have since the two incidents developed great fear and are considering ignoring Sunday's match.
The supporters fear they could be attacked no matter the outcome of the clash.
"After beating Obour and two other journalists, we may never know what will happen to us if we go to the Stadium on Sunday in the national colours of Ghana.
"The Angolans have demonstrated to us that they will beat us on Sunday no matter the condition, and we cannot stand it so we will stay indoors to watch the game on television", the supporters told the GNA Sports on Friday.
The supporters said the behavior of the security officials was an act of intimidation as the Angolans believe a defeat is imminent.
The Ghanaian supporters have, to this end, called on the Ghana Mission in Angola and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to make security arrangements for all Ghanaians ahead of Sunday's match.
