Medeama coach Tom Strand says his side is ready to upset AshantiGold but hopes luck will be on their side.
The Tarkwas side are, incredibly, still looking for a first away victory this season.
The Mauve and Yellows who currently place 7th have been unimpressive on the road so far this season – going winless in 1170 minutes but have managed to secure at least a point in the 13 away games they have played.
They are guests to under pressure table toppers AshantiGold whose lead has been slashed to one point by Aduana Stars in their penultimate away fixture at the Len Clay Stadium this Sunday.
Strand admits to his side’s struggles to amass wins from away games but feels it is more of an issue with luck – one he seeks to shine on his side when they face the Miners this time round.
“We take one match at a time. Now we are at Obuasi this Sunday - it is a very tough game so our focus is on it. We are always trying [to win away matches] but it’s difficult.”
”You have to have a little bit of luck as well but that we have not been able to win away. That is a different story. We are focused for another go at it,” the young Swedish trainer said.
The season’s leading scorer Nathaniel Asamoah will be eying another opportunity to stretch his 18-goal tally further for Medeama who were the side to hand AshGold their first defeat in the league during the first round.
