Matchday 24 started on Friday and we've more games on Saturday and Sunday.

Day 23 proved that indeed the domestic league can produce exciting action on the pitch. AshGold’s lead at the top dropped to two points, Hearts quickly left the red zone but Kotoko seem to be heading towards that direction. 

Can the Porcupines attempt to save themselves like their fiercest rivals have? 

Kotoko v AshGold
This is perhaps the biggest game of all the weekend’s encounters. Both teams have everything to play for and any result out of this game will have a significant implication on how the table will look at the end of the week. For hosts Kotoko, they will be hoping to overturn the poor run in the last five games. The Porcupines have only gathered four points out of a possible 15. Their 1-0 loss to WAFA saw them fall two places down the table. Visitors; Ashanti Gold, will hope to end a woeful run in their last two few games. They have seen their seven point lead fall significantly to two to the disappointment of their fans. They risk losing the top position if they do not win at Baba Yara.

Aduana v Inter Allies
Unlike Aduana Stars who have slipped out of the top five, Inter Allies continue to create a big impression. The Tema-based side beat Hasaacas to continue an enviable four wins out of five games in mid-week. The 1-0 defeat to Wa All Stars saw Aduana fall three places sixth on the league log and they would be hoping to bring smiles to camp and to fans when they host Allies. The Dormaa side have an enviable home record at home. A win on Sunday will see them equal Chelsea's home record of 31 points out of 33. Coupled with the this, the goal shy Aduana have pipped their opponents by a single goal in eight of their eleven home games and a likely result will not be ruled out.

Edubiase v Hearts of Oak
Is the mighty oak tree re-strengthening its roots after it appeared headed for a fall? After spending four days in the relegation zone, they have successfully battled to come out of it. Their shocking but emphatic 4-0 victory over Heart of Lions sought to remind everyone although they may be going through some troubles, they intend to stay on the country’s football scene. The return of their 'old guards' has sparked a fresh start for the Phobians but Abdul Salam's Edubiase will have their say come Saturday. The Bekwai based side have promised to bring their own board members to the stadium as also serve a counter act to the Phobians. Edubiase would hope to send a simple positive feedback to their fans after continuously sending mixed messages following on and off results.

Hasaacas v B.A United 
After a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Inter Allies in the mid-week clash, Hasaacas will be hoping to recover from what they would rather describe as a glitch when they face bottom placed side B.A United. Hasmal will have head coach Yusuf Basigi back on the bench as they seek to appease their Sekondi fanbase.BA United have a poor record when they play away. They have lost all but one of their away matches witht their only point away from the Sunyani Coronation park being a goalless draw with Wa All Stars on match day 21.

Heart of Lions v Wa All Stars
Lions are perhaps so familiar to the jungle, they cannot roar when they come close to the coastline. After suffering a grueling 4-0 defeat to Hearts of Oak in Cape Coast, the kings of the jungle are back home in Kpando where they face Wa All Stars. Lions are back into the relegation zone four days after leaving. All Stars come into the game after getting their first win in four games when they beat Aduana in Wednesday. The victory saw them move one place up to fifth after a string of poor performances.

Great Olympics v Medeama
However Great Olympics try, they are stuck in the relegation zone. Despite possessing a fairly good record compared to other teams, they are still fifteenth in a sixteen-club league. They would be hoping a win at home against Medeama will lift them out of the relegation zone for the first time in over five weeks. Fans of Medeama will expect Coach Tom Strand to continue from where they left off after beating Bechem United 2-0 at home.

Liberty v WAFA
The Soccer Lads are back home in tatters after they were dispatched by Berekum Chelsea in a 2-0 encounter on Wednesday. Liberty have won just one game, lost three and drawn once in their last five games. They may be sinking but their opponents come into this game strong on the back of a 1-0 win over defending champions Asante Kotoko. They move two places up to third following that victory and it increasingly appears, they would end their debut season (as a reformed club) in the top four. The title is also certainly not out of their reach.
